Role Purpose
We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable RF Assistant Technician to support the installation, testing, and maintenance of RF and microwave transmission systems.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with installation and alignment of RF and microwave links.
- Support LOS surveys and site preparation.
- Assist with connecting antennas, waveguides, and cables.
- Support testing of link performance and record results.
- Maintain tools, materials, and site cleanliness.
- Follow safety procedures, especially when working at heights.
- Report progress and issues to the lead technician.
Job Requirements
- Matric.
- Valid South African driving license will be advantageous.
- Clear criminal record.
HSE Competency Requirements
- Valid occupational medical for driving and working at heights.
- Gravity Fall Arrest and Basic Rescue certification.
Required Experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Basic understanding of RF and microwave transmission systems.
- Physically fit and able to work at heights (tower climbing certification is a plus)
- Willingness to learn and follow technical instructions.
- Able to travel frequently to different telecom sites.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
